Salomé Cousseau est une artiste indépendante travaillant entre Paris et son atelier situé dans les Deux-Sèvres.
Depuis son enfance, le bois occupe une place importante grâce à son père ébéniste avec qui elle a expérimenté et développé des techniques précises afin de rendre la volupté désirée à ce noble matériaux.
Ses voyages à travers le monde, où elle admire et rapporte parfois des œuvres traditionnelles et des bijoux de cérémonie, inspirent son imagination et alimentent son désir de mélanger matériaux, techniques et émotions.
Ses créations contemporaines, inclassables et abstraites, fusionnent harmonieusement pierres précieuses, bois et bijoux. Chaque pièce est méticuleusement polie à la main ainsi que chaque élément de bijouterie brasé un à un à l’argent.
Les formes arrondies et langoureuses et les ornements évoquent les images de femmes peintes par de grands maîtres, des corps généreux qui apportent du réconfort. Elles invitent également à considérer les univers invisibles des océans et créatures discrètes et majestueuses.
Guidée par son goût pour l'opulence et son désir d'être entourée de beauté, elle choisit parfois de collaborer avec des mains maîtrisant d'autres corps de métier.

Salomé Cousseau is an independent artist working between Paris and her studio located in Deux-Sèvres.
Since childhood, wood has held a significant place in her life, thanks to her father, a skilled cabinetmaker, with whom she experimented and developed precise techniques to impart the desired voluptuousness to this noble material.
Her travels around the world, where she admires and sometimes brings back traditional artworks and ceremonial jewelry, inspire her imagination and fuel her desire to blend materials, techniques, and emotions.
Her contemporary creations, uncategorizable and abstract, seamlessly merge precious stones, wood, and jewelry. Each piece is meticulously hand-polished, and each jewelry element is individually brazed with silver.
The rounded and languid forms, along with the ornaments, evoke images of women painted by grand masters, generous bodies that provide comfort. They also encourage contemplation of the invisible universes of oceans and discreet yet majestic creatures.
Guided by her taste for opulence and the desire to be surrounded by beauty, she sometimes chooses to collaborate with hands mastering other trades.

Propriétaire de Chabaux, une maison de joaillerie qui se distingue par son approche sculpturale et son savoir-faire raffiné, elle puise son inspiration dans tout ce qui l’entoure : la dynamique des sous-cultures, la nature et les cabinets de curiosités. La créatrice aime créer des rencontres fortuites entre ces sources d’inspiration. Elle mélange et accumule, toujours de manière décalée, teintée d’une touche d’humour, grâce à des références familières et populaires.
Cette vision commune a donné lieu à une collaboration avec Salomé Cousseau, dont l’univers s’inscrit tout autant dans la transformation d’inspirations en objets précieux. Ensemble, elles ont exploré des thèmes pour une série de pièces sculpturales uniques et élégantes.
Owner of Chabaux, a jewellery house distinguished by its sculptural approach and refined craftsmanship, she draws her influences from everything that surrounds her: the dynamics of subcultures, nature and curiosity cabinets. The designer likes to create accidents between these inspirations. She mixes and accumulates; always in an offbeat way, tinged with a note of humor, thanks to familiar and popular references.
This shared vision led to a collaboration with Salomé Cousseau, whose universe is equally rooted in transforming inspirations into precious objects. Together, they explored themes for a series of unique sculptural pieces of elegance.
Les sculptures de crocodiles revisitent la figure emblématique du crocodile de Marina Munoz. Elle a imaginé ce personnage pour la première fois lorsqu’elle était enfant et le réinterprète aujourd’hui à travers une expression artistique plus sophistiquée. Inspirées par l’image d’un crocodile se reposant paisiblement au bord de l’eau, ces œuvres évoquent à la fois une force tranquille et une douceur, alliant élégance et touche de magie.
The crocodile sculptures revisit Marina Munoz's iconic crocodile figure. She first imagined the character as a child and now reinterprets it through a more sophisticated artistic expression. Inspired by the image of a crocodile resting peacefully along the shore, these works evoke both quiet strength and softness, balancing elegance with a subtle sense of wonder.

À l’occasion de la Biennale Révélations au Grand Palais, l’architecte d’intérieur Caroline Andréoni a imaginé la scénographie de l’espace presse comme une galerie vivante célébrant les métiers d’art. Parmi une sélection d’œuvres d’exception, plusieurs sculptures de Salomé Cousseau ont été choisies pour participer à ce dialogue entre matières, gestes et regards.
For the Révélations Biennale at the Grand Palais, the interior architect Caroline Andréoni conceived the press area as a living gallery celebrating exceptional craftsmanship. Among a curated selection of remarkable works, several sculptures by Salomé Cousseau were chosen to take part in this dialogue between materials, gestures, and artistic perspectives.

La ville de Saint-Amand-Montrond
Salomé Cousseau a été invitée par la ville de Saint-Amand-Montrond à effectuer une résidence d'artiste. Ce meuble rend hommage à la région, à son identité et à son riche patrimoine artisanal. Chaque motif représente le symbole de la ville, délicatement sculpté dans du laiton plaqué or et incrusté dans le bois. Cette œuvre d'art se transforme en un langage ornemental raffiné. Ancrée dans la mémoire et l'artisanat, cette pièce célèbre le dialogue entre patrimoine et création contemporaine.
Salomé Cousseau was invited by the City of Saint-Amand-Montrond to do a residency. This cabinet pays tribute to the region, its identity and a rich artisanal heritage. Every metal detail represents the symbol of the city, delicately sculpted in brass gold-plated and inserted into the wood. This artwork transforms into a precious ornamental language. Rooted in memory and craftsmanship, the piece celebrates the dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation.
